IS
NEELS ?
NEELS IS A COMBINATION OF TALENTED ARTISTS, SUPERVISORS AND DIRECTORS.
We’ve been making films for many years in major CG companies in France. From working on famous feature films to directing ambitious advertising campaigns, we collaborated directly with renowned production houses, directors and agencies. We worked for the most demanding people, meeting and transcending their concepts and demands. We decided to bring together our experiences to found Neels, a Paris based creative studio, specialized in mix-media animation and vfx post production.
FOUNDERS
Jonathan Deniard
VFX Supervisor
Jonathan has been working in the animation and VFX industry for over 15 years. He has built up his experience at some of the most famous studios in Paris, including Buf, Illumination, Mikros MPC and The Mill. He has worked as a senior artist and CG supervisor on films such as The Odyssey of Pi, The Grandmaster, Thor, Kingsman and a host of commercials. Co-founder of Neels, he holds the role of VFX supervisor at the studio. He combines a sharp artistic and technical vision to meet the needs of directors, and supports them from shooting to delivery of visual effects.
Julien Claustre
CEO
Julien has a strong track record as Communication Manager in major advertising agencies as Publicis and Dentsu and also in big firms as AXA, Lagardère and Deloitte during 15 years. In 2017, he co-founded Neels Studio, a Paris-based creative boutique specialized in Animation, Vfx and Matchmove working mainly for Advertising and Episodic/Feature movies. With a large portfolio in advertising for Luxury (Louis Vuitton, Dior), Food (Danone, Craft, Mondelez) and Automotive (Peugeot, Nissan) but also for Episodic and Feature movies. He holds the position of Creative Producer at Neels, pushing the limits of creativity and matching deadlines and costs.
Frédéric Mayer
Director
Fred found out about his passion for VFX and animation at the age of 9, watching the first in-game cinematics ever. Since then, he managed his way in this area of expertise for over 23 years, first as a cg animator, cg supervisor, senior Onset supervisor, and finally animation director for commercials and tv-serie. He has been working with many famous brands such as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Ubisoft, Apple, Kellogg's, always giving his unique vision to each project he worked on. As the third co-founder of Neels, he is a creative partner/director, always finding new ideas and challenging the obvious to find the extraordinary in every project.
